Pizza Dough


  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 pkg active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp brown sugar

A basic pizza dough.

Preheat:350 ° F
Prep Time:30 min
Cook Time:15-20 min
Ready In:2 hrs
Servings:1 pizza


  1. In small bowl combine 1/2 c warm water and brown sugar. Dissolve yeast in water and set aside for 5 min.
  2. In large bowl, sift 4 c flour and salt. Make a depression in the middle and pour 3/4 of oil and 1 c warm water.
  3. Add dry yeast mixture.
  4. Add wet mixture and knead for 8-10 minutes. Add flour if dough is too sticky or wet until consistency is elastic.
  5. In large bowl, coat with the remaining oil and place dough in it, turning once.
  6. Cover with a clean cloth and rise until doubles in size (1 1/2-2 hrs).
